Daisy Cutter Pale Ale

Beer Name: Daisy Cutter Pale Ale
Brewery: Half Acre Brewery, Chicago IL
Style: American Pale Ale
ABV: 5.20%

Overall: 3.5/5

First off let me disclaimer this post , I am a Hop fiend. I love hoppy beers (which I am told men are genetically inclined to enjoy more than woman, another post).
This is a hoppy very citrus punched beer. I first realized that I had some odd tastes when I was at a "cooking show" with my brother Joel, this cooking show was as much about cooking as Green peace has to do with nuclear weaponry. Basically you spend about $15 and go get hammered on a Saturday. Anyhow I tasted the beer as well as my brother. I loved it, he made a face like he just bit into a turd. This beer has a quick fading head with a yellow cloudy haze, due to the hops you get a slightly dry mouth feel with a sweet citrus finish. It smells sweet with oranges and a bit of a floral hop punch. In my opinion (not Joel's) this is a great summer beer.

Budweiser Budvar (Czechvar)

Beer Name: Budweiser Budvar
Style: Czech Lager
ABV: 5%

Overall: 4/5

I first had this beer during my 2010 trip to Munich, My wife and I were walking through a flea market, when out of the corner of my eye I see Budweiser. What the hell, Budweiser is terrible (personal opinion) Why in the hell is it being sold here were every beer is born or gods breath? I had to try one, even for the chance to say that I liked the taste of a Budweiser. After a few sips I could tell this beer has nothing to do with the watered down American lager. There is a good balance of malt and hops, a smooth mouth feel with a solid lager taste. I would stand this up against most German lagers without batting an eye. Great beer, and I am proud to say that I have tried a Budweiser that I like. Don't try to find this can here in the states though, (Ain't Gonna Happen). Here it is referred to as Czechvar, no doubt Anheuser-Busch got angry, and made them change the name.
